Volunteering

Calling all cat lovers

Can you help us to help the many cats and kittens that deserve the chance of a happier life?

Could You Become a Fosterer?
You will need a spare room in your home to enable any cats coming into care to be isolated. If you can make a long term commitment and have a secure garden we could arrange for an outdoor pen. We provide cat food, litter and veterinary care. You provide the tender loving care. It is very rewarding to see a cat, often neglected and in poor condition, blossom whilst in your care and then move on to its happy, forever home.

Feral Cat Trapper
Our policy on feral cats is to trap, neuter and return them to site to stop a colony getting out of hand. Are you up for a challenge? You will be pitting your wits against these wily cats that really are not keen on human beings. You will require a degree of physical fitness, the traps are heavy especially when you have an angry cat bouncing around inside. They may need to be carried a little distance to your vehicle, depending on where the colony is sited. Patience is also a great virtue as you will probably need to wait around until the reluctant cats decide to venture into the traps.

Drivers
We are in urgent need of drivers, using their own vehicle, who are available during the day to take cats to vets, bring  cats into our care or deliver cat food etc.

Fundraisers
Can you give any of your time to help with a jumble sale or a stall at our many summer events, usually on a Saturday? Perhaps you can make jam or bake cakes.

Home Visitor
We are looking for someone with their own transport who can assist the Coordinator with carrying out home visits to prospective adopters. Training will be given to anyone interested.

Come and join our friendly team.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Volunteer home visitor

Across Cats Protection there are thousands of cats and kittens looking for new and loving homes at any one time. Our volunteer home visitors support a local volunteer group by helping find our feline friends happy, caring and suitable homes. They communicate with potential adopters, match cats and kittens with new homes and provide support to new cat owners. This is a rewarding role, as our volunteer home visitors play a vital part in helping cats and kittens find their perfect forever homes.

Transport Volunteer

Our transport volunteers help our teams and volunteer groups move equipment, litter, food, money – and even cats! They have the vital role of connecting our network of volunteers, sites, vets and donors. Without them we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats each year that rely on us as they enable our volunteer groups and teams to effectively help our feline friends.

Recruitment Support Volunteer

At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats each year and the majority of these success stories are thanks to the dedication and effort of our passionate volunteers. Our recruitment support volunteers help local volunteer groups and teams by promoting volunteer vacancies, matching passionate cat loving volunteers to vacancies and informing potential volunteers about the variety of volunteer roles available at Cats Protection.
